An Evening Under the Stars is almost here!  The free community concert is a part of the Taste of Unley Road Shopping Festival, presented by the Unley Road Association.  “We’re now in our eighth year, and we want to see as many South Australians at this event, so we can thank them for supporting small, local, and family-run businesses”, Stephen Finos, Vice Chairman of the Unley Road Association.

The theme for the concert is Songs of Stage and Screen and will feature Italian Born Pop/Classical Tenor Antonio Villano & New Zealand Born Soul-Stress Kate Villano. Antonio and Kate have recently returned  from a series of International Cruises presenting their Musical Theatre Show “Encore~ Songs of Stage and Screen” alongside some of world’s finest ( Jose Carreras, Elaine Paige and Anthony Warlow and many more) “Encore” continues to receive rave reviews and standing ovations as their audiences are transported on a scrumptious trip down musical memory lane with songs from Les Miserable, Evita, Cats, Jesus Christ Super Star, Chess,  Phantom Of The Opera to name a few.

Opening the show will be SA based Jazz virtuoso Nicolina Barcello and her 4 piece band performing some of the most instantly recognizable jazz classics ever written- My Funny Valentine,  Moondance, Route 66, Feeling Good, Georgia, Bye bye black bird!

Special guest of the evening is Rachael Leahcar, Royal Society for the Blind Ambassador, who are the event charity partner.   All donations from the evening go straight to the RSB who provide assistance to people living with vision impairment. This excellent charity gives people the opportunity to improve the quality and independence of their lives

The vent will take place on Saturday 23 February 2019 at the Unley Soldiers Memorial Gardens. Concert starts at 8pm, food and drinks will be available from 6pm.   Unley Road traders The Grind and Royal Tandoori, will join favourites such as Vilis and St Louis Icecream, and Staazi – Greek Vegan food.

The concert is also a stable in the Adelaide Fringe Festival Calendar and attracts an audience of 2000.  Visitors can bring chairs, picnic rugs, nibbles and drinks or purchase light refreshments from stallholders on the night.  Compered by Kate Collins from Channel 9, the event is sure to be a terrific night out!
