Barrow and Bench Mitre10 is a thoroughly modern, award winning, family owned hardware store and garden centre, where you will find excellent service and quality stock at one convenient location. Proprietors Paul and Amanda Stewart have a passion for what they do, and a focus on service, convenience and quality. Paul is a ‘chippy’ by trade and has a long history of involvement in supporting local charities, and sporting groups, and, of course, in building and renovation. Amanda has garden design and horticultural qualifications, and a passion for green-living and the outdoors. Between them, and their staff they can assist you with all the inspiration and advice you need to renovate and style your home and garden.
The store offers all the things you might expect of a good hardware store, with a comprehensive range of DIY tools, fixings, timber, outdoor furniture, umbrellas, gas refills, trailer hire, free pool testing, gift cards, delivery, fabulous plants and pots, including a great range of indoor plants.
On any given Saturday and Sunday you are likely to find local schools, service groups and sporting clubs hosting a sausage sizzle at the store. This is a long held tradition at Barrow and Bench. Contact the Manager if you would like to book a spot for a fundraising BBQ. ** To assist groups with their fundraising we provide the BBQ, gas and shelter.
A little history: Barrow and Bench has been serving homeowners and residents of Unley for over 40 years. First established in April 1978, Barrow & Bench began trading from the old Ampol Service Station site at the corner of Unley Road and Fisher Street as a Big H store. In 1999 the store moved into what was the Fairway Ford site at 321 Unley Road, Malvern.
Barrow and Bench is now a second generation hardware store, with Paul and Amanda purchasing the shop in 2013. Their focus is on ensuring Barrow and Bench continues to grow and develop as a reputable, locally owned, hardware store. Service, convenience and quality remain at the forefront of their business.
